This post is all about my amazing husband, one of The United States' newest AIRBORNE ARMY RANGERS! He was born and raised in Altamont, a tiny town in eastern Utah that in the 2000 census only had a population of 178. He enlisted in the United States Army on April 13, 2004 and was the Distinguished Honor Graduate and received the Army Achievement Medal for his outstanding performance during his training courses at Fort Lee and Fort Lewis. He served in the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) out of Draper, Utah until he graduated from Utah State University and commissioned as an Infantry Officer. During all of this, he also worked full time as a Police officer and a member of the S.W.A.T. team in Logan, Utah. Weston was the firearms instructor for the Police Department and received the Medal of Valor for his actions while on a S.W.A.T. call last August.
On a side note, he drives a BIG truck and an all-American muscle car, wants a gun for every room in the house, is humble, treats me like a queen, loves his family more than anything, rides a big 'ole cruiser motorcycle, is very close to God, has the most amazing sense of humor, is the sweetest most gentle man you'll meet, a friend to everyone, the best driver, wears his hats backwards, can drive a tractor or a HMMWV (Humvee), loves animals, will eat anything, is braver than anyone I've ever known, can play the guitar, looks good in anything, likes Disney movies, gives the best back massages, can tuck you in as snug as a bug in a rug, is an amazing leader, an exceptional listener, a pro zombie slayer (video games), a very romantic man, makes the best silly faces, can make a mess faster than what I thought to be humanly possible, does laundry like a champ, can drink Mountain Dew by the gallon, is always full of compliments and sweet nothings, makes me feel safe, is absolutely hysterical, has a killer smile, can look like Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch) and the lead penguin from the animated movie Madagascar, never complains, and through it all manages to be my very best friend. (this list could continue for days, but I think you get the point--he's awesome)
The word service comes to mind whenever I think of Weston. Weston has served his country on a number of different levels. He is not only a certified bad-ass, but he also has a deep love and devotion to this wonderful nation. While some may join the Army for the benefits, to pay for college, or to see the world, Weston joined because he wanted to serve this country. I have heard stories from his Mom about when he was little how he always played G.I. Joe, drove around his toy tanks, or would dive behind trees to avoid fake explosions. This boy was born to be a soldier. I honestly believe that these men are born with an inherent desire and ability to be soldiers and defend what they know to be true. We are lucky to have men like that to defend our nation, especially at a time of war.
I cannot begin to express how proud I am to say that I am a wife of an Army Ranger, not to mention this specific one. Pinning that small piece of cloth on his uniform meant more than anything. An immense amount of hard work, sacrifice, a severe lack of sleep, food, and basic necessities, pain, pride, blood, devotion, honor, and an incredible amount of determination is in that tiny tab.
I am the proud wife of this amazing man and soldier. Jealous?

It's so refreshing to read this post! I know that we are family, but I still feel like I have so much to learn about you both! Thanks for sharing all of these beautiful ideas! I really admire all that Weston has done (for you, for himself, for our country). He is really distinguished and he has to be a pretty amazing guy to deserve a girl like you! Have a fun halloween!
That's a great post! I feel inspired to write something about my soldier! Maybe I should when he's gone, so I can be reminded of him when he isn't close. :)
He really is great... I love that boy too. Anyone that can make you that happy is truly amazing and OK in my book:)
Love love love LOVE this post! Seriously Weston is the coolest brother in the world to me and I knew he would make such a good hubby when he found the perfect, funny, beautiful, outgoing, supportive girl that he was looking for! Seriously Wester is the king of all kings but he could not do it without the perfect queen of all queens wife!
